About the Role

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly skilled Grant and Contract Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our research enterprise and ensuring continued funding for research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant and Contract Monitoring: Monitor and analyze a portfolio of research project grants, contracts, and restricted gifts to protect the integrity of the university's research enterprise and ensure continued funding for research.
  • Financial Management: Enter award data in the financial system of record, process invoices and payments, and manage reconciliation of receipts and accounts receivable.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Identify sponsor terms and conditions that require attention, communicate with Principal Investigators and department staff to ensure compliance, and prepare and submit financial reports to ensure compliance with sponsor and institution requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with pre-award staff, department staff, and external stakeholders to facilitate best grants management practices and provide guidance and direction to resolve compliance issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 0-7 years related business experience, depending on the level of the position.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, and demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of OMB Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
  • Knowledge of NIH Grants Policy Statement.
