As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the physical and administrative tasks related to the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform physical or administrative tasks to support the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Determine the most efficient routing and arrangements for shipments, considering factors such as the nature of the items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost.
- Consult rate schedules for specific rates depending on the method of shipment and/or distance shipped.
- Assess the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier to transport shipments.
- Calculate and record storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges.
- Reroute urgent shipments or arrange for special delivery at the destination.
- Prepare and maintain records of products shipped and track shipments.
- Receive incoming materials, unpack, and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain records of received goods, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.
- Stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
A High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
