Purpose of the Position

Support licensed nursing personnel by administering prescribed medications as directed by physicians, adhering to established nursing protocols, facility policies, and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications accurately, following the five rights, utilizing our electronic Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Deliver insulin and conduct blood glucose monitoring under the guidance of the facility nurse.
  • Ensure precise documentation and timely ordering of medications.
  • Conduct narcotic counts and provide comprehensive shift reports.
  • Encourage open communication with nursing staff, Resident Care Coordinators, and care team members.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents.
  • Engage in ongoing monthly training and education.
Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months of experience in medication administration.
  • Ability to take basic vital signs.
  • Familiarity with electronic MAR systems.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
