Job Requirements

  • We require a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of therapy tech work experience in a hospital or outpatient rehab setting.
  • CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and we prefer experience with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Job Duties

  • As a Therapy Technician, you will demonstrate knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and regulations and standards affecting decisions and interpretations.
  • You will develop rapport with patients and their families using an approach common with that of the healthcare team for the purpose of obtaining maximum participation in activities.
  • You will transfer, transport, and position patients, follow written and verbal instructions, and set up and/or remove equipment or therapy aides for therapists as instructed.
  • You will perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment as needed and report any defective equipment to your supervisor.
  • You will communicate patient observations, responses, interactions, and non-verbal signs to therapists.
  • You will organize patient treatment time and unscheduled time efficiently and assist in on-the-job training, education, and supervision of Physical Therapy Technicians, volunteers, and/or nursing staff.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned.
