About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Dallas. As a key member of our Supportive Palliative Care team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients with serious illnesses and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the physical and mental condition of patients through comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
  • Prescribe, recommend, and employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures, ensuring efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based medicine, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health conditions, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Maintain accurate records detailing patient treatment plans and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, with ICU experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Current certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
