Job Overview

A&L Foods, a well-established company in the food distribution sector, is seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist. This role is essential in managing customer interactions to gather necessary information and facilitate the processing of sales orders. Your primary responsibilities will include the accurate and timely handling of invoices and customer payments, addressing any issues that arise, engaging with customers, nurturing client relationships, and following up on payment discrepancies. This position is ideal for individuals with strong computer skills, proficiency in web-based applications, and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute daily invoicing tasks collaboratively.
  • Assess posted invoices and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Investigate invoicing and payment discrepancies with guidance from management.
  • Compose correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections; identify delinquent accounts through thorough review and initiate contact for payment.
  • Generate reports on current account statuses, efficiently organize information and files, and ensure systematic record-keeping.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable on a monthly basis.
  • Manage documentation for accounts receivable, including copying, filing, and retrieval.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma with at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and accounting software; experience with web-based applications is advantageous.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability.
  • Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
