Position Overview:


Under general supervision, this role coordinates front office operations within a clinical environment, ensuring a friendly and welcoming experience for patients while gathering essential information for accurate billing and collection of services rendered.


Key Responsibilities:
The duties of a Patient Services Representative may encompass, but are not limited to:

Core Functions:

Patient Scheduling, Insurance Verification, Charge Entry, Data Entry, Insurance Follow-Up, Self-Pay Follow-Up/Collections, Refund Management, Responding to Patient Account Inquiries, Customer Service Advocacy, and Self-Pay Collections.


Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of two (2) years of college education or an Associate's Degree is required.

Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is necessary. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Epic (EMR) systems.
Familiarity with various third-party insurance plans, including HMO, PPO, POS, and Indemnity.

Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs (CMS), particularly concerning CPT procedures and ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnostic coding.

Comprehensive understanding of Medicare Fraud and Abuse regulations.

Ability to provide financial counseling to patients regarding outstanding charges and effectively resolve issues with exceptional customer service skills.

Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EHR) and Physician Billing Systems (PB).
Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations.
