Production Team Leader

About the Role

At DS Smith Group, we are seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to join our recycling division. As a key member of our team, you will assist the Operations Manager in directing and controlling all production and commercial matters. Your primary responsibility will be to work with the team to deliver the depot's operational strategy and objectives, ensuring that high standards and policies of Health and Safety are maintained.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate your team to achieve operational excellence
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to manage the site's costs in line with the business plan
  • Assist in depot estimates and forecasting, including managing stocks on our ERP systems
  • Ensure that all depot employees fully understand their objectives and responsibilities
  • Promote best practice across the site and drive continuous improvement

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience leading and motivating teams and individuals in a production environment
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and understanding of its importance in the workplace
  • Practical knowledge of how plant and machinery work in complex systems
  • Understanding of quality management systems
  • PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or equivalent
  • Valid driving license

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and its application
  • Experience in operating mobile and fixed plants
  • Experience in production planning
  • Experience of working within recycling
