Role Overview:

We are in search of an Engineering Manager to join our Cement Competence Center. This pivotal role involves leading a diverse team of technical experts and contract engineers in the development of groundbreaking solutions for our upcoming carbon capture facility. Your extensive engineering expertise will be crucial in ensuring superior design quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to regulatory standards. As the project transitions into the construction phase, you will also provide essential support to contractors during this critical period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation of technical pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, including cost assessments for CCUS applications at our targeted manufacturing sites. Collaborate with internal specialists and external partners as necessary.
  • Assess and contribute to project criteria, guidelines, and standards based on the latest industry codes and technologies.
  • Manage procurement processes by preparing tender documents, reviewing bids, and participating in evaluations to recommend contract awards.
  • Evaluate project documentation, including technical recommendations and commissioning documents.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders through presentations and team meetings.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary technical reviews of documents and development plans, including model assessments and operational reviews.
  • Contribute to carbon capture initiatives at other company facilities.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff to foster their professional growth.

Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, with a strong background in leading multi-disciplinary teams through all project phases.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in fields such as CCUS, Hydrogen, Industrial Gas, Oil and Gas, or Chemical industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems design, fabrication processes, and engineering materials.
  • Proven engineering skills with the ability to collaborate across various disciplines.
  • Familiarity with piping and process systems design, including the preparation of specifications and diagrams.
  • Understanding of industry and regulatory standards (CSA, ASME, NFPA, ASTM) is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Eligibility for professional engineer registration is preferred.
