Job Overview

This role is responsible for steering the daily and strategic functions of a complex manufacturing facility to meet engineering and maintenance goals as outlined by the Plant Director and Business Unit. The individual will oversee all maintenance, repairs, and enhancements of equipment, buildings, and plant grounds, ensuring installations and removals comply with company, industry, and customer standards while optimizing costs and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of direct reports, focusing on employee recruitment, development, coaching, and performance evaluation. Ensure a culture of safety, high performance, and compliance with ethical and legal standards while addressing employee relations matters.
  • Guarantee that all personnel receive appropriate training and are aware of potential safety and health hazards in line with company health and safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and GMP sanitation practices.
  • Provide technical insights and solutions aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and documented product quality for Blow Mold and Injection Mold production, collaborating closely with the plant management team.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Set priorities for the maintenance department to ensure optimal use of available resources.
  • Propose and execute strategies to resolve identified issues, enhance labor efficiency, upgrade facilities, and reduce operational costs.
  • Solicit bids for construction, modifications, or installations as necessary. Recommend contractors based on cost, quality of work, and timelines. Manage contracts and coordinate work to meet company expectations.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, enhancement, and adherence to preventative maintenance programs while maintaining an up-to-date layout of facilities and grounds.
  • Supervise the Maintenance Manager to inspire and evaluate skills, review recommendations, and ensure technical competence among department personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local safety, health, environmental, building, and fire regulations, including but not limited to lockout/tagout, hazardous communication, machine safeguarding, and waste management.
  • Maintain the operation and upkeep of the facility's heating, air conditioning, electrical, and compressed air systems.
  • Adhere to all Food Safety standards within the facility, possessing the authority to halt production in response to quality concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient in mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Adept at interpreting a wide range of instructions and customer requirements.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all team members and management. Must be capable of managing and training personnel continuously.
  • Willingness to travel 10-15%.
