About the Role

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Services Director to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and directing the activities of our Dining Services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service Standards: Establish and maintain high standards for food purchasing, storage, and preparation to ensure the highest quality of food service for patients.
  • Policy and Procedure: Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
  • Dining Staff Management: Plan and direct employee staffing schedules and assignments to ensure effective food service.
  • Departmental Budget: Plan and administer the departmental budget to ensure cost-effective food service.
  • Nutritional Status: Monitor the nutritional status of patients using regular assessments, progress notes, and care planning.
  • Communication: Represent the Nutrition Services Department at staff meetings and communicate pertinent administrative information to staff.
  • Menu Planning: Adapt the master menu cycle to individual and facility preferences with the Registered Dietitian.
  • Supply Management: Purchase or requisition food supplies in appropriate quantities based on the menu and established budgetary parameters.
  • Temperature Control: Monitor all temperatures per local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Recipe Management: Maintain and issue a file of standardized recipes adjusted to the proper yield.
  • Patient Preferences: Complete initial patient food preferences.
  • Diet Roster: Maintain the diet roster and nourishment list.
  • Kitchen Equipment: Maintain the kitchen equipment log.
  • Tray Tickets: Prepare, update, and audit tray tickets as needed.
  • Staff Training: In-service Nutrition Services staff on a regular basis.
  • Financial Reports: Prepare and submit financial reports as required.
  • Catering: Coordinate catering as necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
  • Patient Care: Attend patient care plan meetings.
  • Employee Evaluations: Complete employee evaluations on an annual basis or post-probationary period.
  • Abuse Prevention: Review Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforce employee responsibility.
  • Continuing Education: Attend in-services, understand, and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
  • Patient Safety: Ensure patient/resident safety.
