Job Overview

Eng. is seeking dedicated professionals with a construction background to fulfill our full-time, seasonal Construction Inspector positions. Chosen candidates will serve as on-site representatives of Eng. for municipal public works projects, including roads, utilities, and infrastructure throughout various regions. This role involves conducting inspections to ensure adherence to codes, standards, plans, and specifications.

An ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills and maintain a solid understanding of construction processes. Permanent employment opportunities may be available for applicants with additional engineering and surveying expertise during off-peak seasons. This position is classified as non-exempt, hourly, with potential overtime compensation at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction activities to guarantee compliance with all relevant codes, standards, plans, and specifications.
  • Conduct field measurements for contractor payments and create accurate representations of completed work.
  • Facilitate communication between colleagues, clients, contractors, and other consultants to keep the project team informed and coordinated.
  • Prepare detailed daily reports of construction activities and other necessary documentation.
  • Manage traffic control operations to ensure public safety and convenience.
  • Regularly review soil erosion and sedimentation control measures and produce required reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. completion.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in general construction.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and contract specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible availability, with a willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in municipal construction (sewer, water, pathways, roads).
  • Completion of 2 years of college-level construction or engineering courses.
  • Prior experience in construction inspection is advantageous.
