Job Summary

Clark Dietz is seeking an experienced Construction Technician to join our Michigan Construction Team. As a Construction Technician, you will provide construction inspection services for infrastructure projects around Michigan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inspection and documentation services on civil construction projects, including roadway, bridge, and intersection improvements.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and documents, compute quantities, and verify measurements and layouts.
  • Perform site data collection and verify existing conditions.
  • Sample, test, and verify material certification and reporting as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs and submit progress reports and pay documentation.
  • Collaborate with construction and design staff to complete projects on budget.
  • Work productively with project stakeholders to resolve issues in a professional manner.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; A.S. degree in Construction Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum one construction season of experience on infrastructure projects required.
  • Current MDOT certification for inspection and/or testing strongly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel and Word) required.
  • Experience with Fieldbook, ProjectWise, and MicroStation desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed daily logs and follow through on outstanding punch list items.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work productively with project stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
