POSITION OVERVIEW
The Clinical Coordinator for Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) is a pivotal faculty role that encompasses teaching, service, and administrative responsibilities within the clinical education framework of the SLP program. This position entails delivering clinical courses and overseeing residency coordination while collaborating closely with SLP faculty. Interaction with students, external stakeholders, and professional organizations is a key component of this role, which may also involve travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clinical Education Development:
    Design and implement SLP residency programs, ensuring effective clinical supervision and guidance for student clinicians across all aspects of professional practice. Maintain accurate clinical clock hours and foster community partnerships.
  • Instructional Duties:
    Deliver two clinical courses each trimester, develop and execute clinical simulations during residencies, and create an engaging learning environment that promotes student success through innovative and evidence-based practices.
  • Service and Governance:
    Engage in university committees and professional associations, serve as a liaison in community activities, and contribute to the governance and curriculum planning processes of the institution.
  • Administrative Functions:
    Collaborate with team members, advise students on academic and professional matters, and complete assigned administrative tasks while participating in faculty development initiatives.
  • Professional Conduct:
    Exemplify professionalism and adhere to the discipline-specific Code of Ethics, actively engaging in interprofessional collaboration and upholding university policies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned by program leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or doctorate with clinical expertise.
  • Preferred experience includes two years as a Clinical Supervisor or Site Supervisor for SLP students and at least one year of college-level teaching.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience relevant to the course content.
  • Licensure requirements include ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and state SLP license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is primarily office-based, involving standard office equipment and moderate noise levels, with physical demands typical of an office setting.
