School Clinic Registered Nurse

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time School Clinic RN to join our team. As a School Clinic RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs.
- Demonstrate the provision of skilled nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders and Individualized Health Plans (IHPs).
- Perform interventions, treatments, and medications administration according to identified priorities as outlined in the IHP.
- Monitor and document the effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications.
- Complete documentation per client expectations.
- Coordinate and facilitate services as requested between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources to meet the needs of the student.
- Communicate with school district personnel about student plans of care/IHPs.
- Notify District School Nurse/Amergis Supervisor/Parent/Physician as outlined in the IHP regarding changes in student condition, physician notification to obtain necessary orders, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with school/education personnel/other health agencies as requested to design and meet student health care needs.
- Evaluate and assure student safety at all times.
- Adhere to Amergis Healthcare and school district policies.
- Maintain accuracy in student health records.
- Support professional practice by observing the following:
- Nurse Practice Act
- Standards of Nursing Practice
- Standards of Patient Care
- Standards of accrediting body (The Joint Commission)
- State laws
- Educational Codes and Federal Laws as described in the ADA and IDEA
- Patient Bill of Rights
- Amergis Healthcare and school district policies
- At the request of the school district, participate in student care conferences/Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- LPN/LVNs should direct questions regarding orders and changes in condition to a Supervising RN (DN and/or Clinical Supervisor).
- Perform other duties as assigned/necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited registered, practical, or vocational nursing program.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational, or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing.
- One year of professional experience, preferred.
- Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable.
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program.
- Current CPR.
- PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
