POSITION OVERVIEW
The Clinical Coordinator for Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) is a pivotal faculty role that encompasses teaching, service, and administrative responsibilities related to the clinical education of the SLP program. This position involves instructing clinical courses and managing the clinical education segment of the SLP curriculum in collaboration with fellow faculty members. Engagement with students, external stakeholders, and professional organizations is integral to this role, and occasional travel may be necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clinical Education Development and Execution
    - Strategically plans and oversees SLP residency programs.
    - Provides clinical supervision and guidance to student clinicians across all aspects of professional practice.
    - Accurately tracks student clinical hours using CALIPSO.
    - Establishes and nurtures partnerships within the community for clinical opportunities.
    - Identifies and secures clinical sites and educators for residency placements.
    - Effectively communicates student and curriculum updates to faculty and program directors.
  • Instructional Responsibilities
    - Delivers two clinical courses each trimester.
    - Designs and implements clinical simulations during residency experiences.
    - Creates an engaging residency learning environment that fosters student success through innovative and evidence-based practices.
    - Utilizes assessment data to enhance teaching methods and curriculum development.
  • Service and Governance
    - Participates in university and program committees as assigned.
    - Engages actively in professional associations.
    - Acts as a liaison between the university and community/professional activities.
    - Utilizes release time for activities that benefit the program, such as clinical practice or research.
  • Administrative Duties
    - Collaborates effectively with team members.
    - Advises students on academic and professional matters, providing referrals as needed.
    - Completes assigned administrative tasks and participates in faculty performance evaluations.
  • Professional Conduct
    - Models professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions.
    - Upholds the university's core values and policies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned by the Program Director or relevant administrative personnel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree or doctorate with demonstrated clinical expertise.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience as a Clinical Supervisor or Site Supervisor in speech-language pathology.
  • Preferred: At least one year of teaching experience at the college/university level.
  • Required: Minimum of two years of clinical experience in relevant content areas.
  • Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and state SLP license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position primarily operates in an office setting, with moderate noise levels and typical office demands.
