POSITION SUMMARY:

A Staff Pharmacist plays a crucial role in the safe storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medicinal products to patients. This includes maintaining accurate records and providing drug information within the scope of professional expertise. Staff Pharmacists hold supervisory, administrative, technical, and evaluative responsibilities to ensure the appropriateness of patient medication regimens. Key responsibilities encompass the acquisition, preparation, sterilization, distribution, control, inspection, storage, labeling, and record-keeping of medications.

Additionally, Staff Pharmacists utilize research, interpretive, and communication skills to deliver precise and timely responses to drug information inquiries and consultation challenges. They are involved in the planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of Pharmacy Services policies, participate in educational programs for patients, students, and staff, engage in drug utilization review activities, provide clinical pharmacy services as necessary, and accept on-call duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in pharmacy is required.
  • Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
