SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Staff Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medicinal products to patients. This position entails maintaining accurate records and providing drug information while exercising professional judgment. Staff Pharmacists are tasked with supervisory, administrative, and technical responsibilities to guarantee the appropriateness of medication regimens for patients. Key responsibilities include the acquisition, preparation, sterilization, distribution, control, inspection, storage, labeling, and record-keeping of medications.

Additionally, Staff Pharmacists utilize their research, interpretive, and writing skills to deliver precise and timely responses to drug-related inquiries and consultation challenges. They are involved in the planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of Pharmacy Services policies. Participation in educational programs for patients, students, and staff, as well as involvement in drug utilization reviews and clinical pharmacy services, is also expected.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in pharmacy is required.
  • Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
