Job Summary:

Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will perform various functions associated with the dispensing, charging, and delivery of medication to patient care areas. This includes preparing medications for dispensing, transporting medications and equipment, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare medications for dispensing under the supervision of the pharmacist, demonstrating accuracy, precision, and consistency.
  • Transport medications, drug-delivery devices, and other pharmacy equipment to all patient care areas of the hospital.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and inventory.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the dispensing area and medication storeroom.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacist or supervisor.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) required within nine months of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:

The Pharmacy Technician will work in a hospital setting, with exposure to biohazardous waste, blood-borne pathogens, and chemicals. The position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods.
