POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals and therapeutic agents to patients. This position entails maintaining accurate records and providing drug-related information while exercising professional judgment. Clinical Pharmacists are tasked with supervisory, administrative, and technical responsibilities to ensure the appropriateness of medication therapies for patients. Key responsibilities include the acquisition, preparation, sterilization, distribution, control, inspection, storage, labeling, and record-keeping of medications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize research and interpretive skills to deliver accurate and timely drug information and consultation.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of Pharmacy Services policies.
  • Engage in educational programs for patients, students, and staff.
  • Participate in drug utilization review activities and perform clinical pharmacy services as required.
  • Accept on-call responsibilities as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in pharmacy is required.
  • Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
