Position Overview

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development to be part of our Public Land Development Group. This role is based in our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will be a Civil Engineer with 2 to 10 years of experience, responsible for site development engineering and project management for both residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing project components utilizing relevant software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
  • Conducting calculations with engineering principles and utilizing computer software to address engineering challenges.
  • Preparing specifications and materials by researching and utilizing manufacturing catalogs to ensure proper installation and inspection of project components.
  • Finalizing design details and creating comprehensive plan sets.
  • Performing research and drafting objective summary reports to assist in project completion and inspections.
  • Assisting in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Conducting field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior engineering personnel.
  • Communicating effectively with client representatives and internal design teams as guided by senior engineering staff.

Qualifications for a successful candidate include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of experience in Land Development civil engineering, including residential neighborhood design and commercial/mixed-use development; however, entry-level candidates will also be considered.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
