Position Overview

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development to contribute to our Public Land Development Group. This role is based in our Charlotte, NC office and is ideal for Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years of experience. The successful candidate will engage in site development engineering and project management for both residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Designing project components utilizing relevant software, including modeling and Civil 3D technology.
  • Conducting calculations using engineering principles and software to address challenges.
  • Preparing specifications and material lists through research and manufacturing catalogs.
  • Finalizing design details and plan sets.
  • Performing research and drafting objective summary reports to support project completion.
  • Assisting in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Carrying out field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior staff.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and internal design teams under the guidance of senior engineers.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of experience in Land Development civil engineering, including residential neighborhood and commercial development; entry-level candidates may also be considered.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
