Position Overview

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development to contribute to our Public Land Development Group. This role is based in our Charlotte, NC office and is designed for Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years of experience. The successful candidate will engage in site development engineering and project management for both residential and commercial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing project components utilizing relevant software and modeling tools, particularly Civil 3D.
  • Executing calculations using engineering principles and technology to address challenges.
  • Preparing specifications and material lists through thorough research and catalog reviews.
  • Finalizing design details and comprehensive plan sets.
  • Conducting research and drafting objective summary reports to support project completion.
  • Assisting in the formulation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Performing field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior engineers.
  • Facilitating communication between client representatives and the internal design team as instructed by senior staff.

Qualifications for a successful candidate include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • At least two years of experience in Land Development civil engineering, encompassing residential neighborhood design and commercial/mixed-use projects; however, entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
