Position Overview


Stamford Health and Stamford Hospital Foundation (SHF) are in search of a Chief Philanthropy Officer to drive charitable efforts and influence the trajectory of healthcare philanthropy at Stamford Health.

In this pivotal role, the Chief Philanthropy Officer will lead the formulation and execution of a holistic philanthropy strategy, nurturing a culture of generosity, attracting significant contributions, and overseeing a skilled team.

The Chief Philanthropy Officer will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer (CDO).

As the Chief Philanthropy Officer, you will guide strategic planning, execution, and management of all fundraising initiatives.

The ideal candidate will engage with the CDO, Stamford Health CEO, SHF Board members, healthcare professionals, appreciative patients/families, senior leadership, volunteers, donors, and other vital internal and external stakeholders to secure both annual and multi-year contributions while fostering enduring relationships with the community in support of Stamford Health's programs and services.

Quickly adapt to evolving circumstances while maintaining a focus on risk assessment in decision-making.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is highly preferred.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within a healthcare environment.

Experience collaborating with a volunteer structure or board.

A comprehensive understanding of annual, major, and planned giving, project-based and comprehensive capital campaigns, special events, and grants.

A profound knowledge of philanthropy operations and administration, including Raiser's Edge and various prospect research tools.

Proven experience in building, mentoring, and inspiring a team.

Familiarity with the broader Fairfield County philanthropic/non-profit landscape is preferred.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages and mediums to diverse audiences.

Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized.

Able to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure with tight deadlines, and operate independently.
