Stamford Health and Stamford Hospital Foundation (SHF) are in search of a Chief Philanthropy Officer to guide fundraising efforts and redefine the landscape of healthcare philanthropy at Stamford Health.

In this pivotal role, the Chief Philanthropy Officer will lead the creation and execution of a holistic philanthropy framework, nurturing a culture of generosity and securing significant contributions while overseeing a talented team.

The Chief Philanthropy Officer will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer (CDO).

As the Chief Philanthropy Officer, you will drive strategic planning, execution, and management of all fundraising initiatives.

The ideal candidate will engage with the CDO, Stamford Health CEO, SHF Board members, healthcare professionals, appreciative patients/families, senior leadership, volunteers, donors, and other essential internal and external stakeholders to secure both annual and multi-year contributions, fostering enduring relationships with the community in support of Stamford Health's programs and services.


This is a remarkable opportunity for a seasoned leader with over a decade of management and fundraising expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; a master's degree is highly preferred.

At least 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within a healthcare environment.

Experience collaborating with a volunteer structure or board.

A comprehensive understanding of annual, major, and planned giving, project-based and comprehensive capital campaigns, special events, and grants.

A profound knowledge of philanthropy operations and administration, including Raiser's Edge and various prospect research tools.

Proven experience in building, mentoring, and inspiring a team.

Familiarity with the broader Fairfield County philanthropic/non-profit sector is preferred.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages and mediums to diverse audiences.

Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized.

Able to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure with tight deadlines, and operate independently.
