Environmental Engineer Opportunity at Kent Corporation

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team at Grain Processing Corporation, a member of the Kent Corporation family of companies. As an Environmental Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the environmental sustainability of our corn wet milling facility in Washington, Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and perform permitting, monitoring, testing, and reporting of air emissions, water discharges, and waste disposal.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site environmental programs, including Spill Prevention and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting.
  • Maintain and update environmental programs, including Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and Tier II reporting (SARA311/312).
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure environmental compliance and act as a resource for division and department management.
  • Obtain new or modified permits as needed and renew existing permits as required by law.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in environmental engineering or environmentally oriented positions.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting air, water, stormwater, and waste issues.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of operation of anaerobic and aerobic wastewater systems.
  • Experience providing guidance or direction to others and previous experience in an environmental management role.
Travel:
  • Occasional travel for training.
