Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Perdue Farms, a family-owned company, is seeking an Environmental Manager to join our team. As a key member of our environmental services department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all current and future Federal, State, and local Environmental Regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with permit conditions, including the renewal of such permits.
- Develop and implement sustainable waste recycling programs to reduce the facility's carbon footprint.
- Establish and implement activities to reduce the facility's consumption of natural gas, diesel fuel, electricity, compressed air, steam, and water.
- Supervise and manage general associates, including hiring, training, and developing associates to ensure production requirements, environmental regulation, and carbon footprint reduction goals are met at the lowest cost.
- Provide timely, accurate, and consistent reports to internal and external customers.
- Practice good community and public education and relations.
- Provide a safe work environment for all associates by eliminating unsafe acts or conditions and adhering to all company safety policies.
- Order all parts, supplies, chemicals, etc. required by the department and monitor all activities related to the wastewater department.
- Control cost and assets to manage within established goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Biological Science.
- 5-6 years related work experience.
- Strong reading, math, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate in other verbal and written form.
- Waste water license to the degree required operating the largest waste water treatment facility with the complexes.
- Must meet requirements of the Company safety handbook.
- Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Must be able to fulfill responsibilities in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to move light equipment or supplies as needed.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive extended distances.
