Commercial Services Business Development Officer

The Commercial Services Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in commercial deposits, commercial payments, and other related products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business concepts, including accounts payable, purchasing, and accounting systems. They will also possess excellent verbal, listening, and communication skills, as well as strong customer relations skills and the ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial deposits, commercial payments, and other related products
* Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers
* Conduct sales calls and site visits to prospects and existing business customers
* Prepare and deliver results-oriented sales proposals to facilitate the closing of sales
* Negotiate contractual terms and pricing options while taking advantage of the best solutions that will yield pricing advantages for the customer and provide an acceptable return to the bank
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Business development and relationship building experience required with proven track record for sales and negotiation success
* Business development experience and background in business banking, treasury management / cash management, and commercial deposits preferred
* Strong understanding of business concepts including accounts payable, purchasing, and accounting systems
* Confidence and willingness to go out on solo and group sales calls
* Ability to identify client needs, present banking solutions and bank products
Working Conditions:
* Must have a valid driver's license as most of the work and responsibilities require traveling to customers and potential customers' officers and places of business
