About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Spanish language courses at the University of Denver. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Spanish language and linguistics, as well as experience in teaching diverse student populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 4-credit courses in Spanish language and culture, including SPAN 1001, SPAN 1002, and SPAN 1003
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate communicative, task-based teaching methods
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create exams and evaluate student work
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions
Requirements
  • Masters degree or ABD in Spanish Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience in Spanish in the United States
  • Experience in teaching diverse student populations and incorporating inclusive pedagogy
  • Proficiency in course management systems such as Canvas
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience in Spanish language and culture
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and managing courses via Canvas
Work Schedule

10-week sessions with classes held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Compensation

The standard pay for one 4-credit course during the academic year is $4,233
