Spanish Language Immersion Support Specialist

- Facilitates and promotes student success through Positive Behavior interventions and Restorative Practices.
- Reinforces educational content delivered by instructors by providing individualized or small group support to students.
- Delivers or co-delivers instructional sessions as necessary.
- Assists educators with administrative tasks, including monitoring attendance and calculating academic performance.
- Proactively supervises students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch periods, recess, and field excursions.
- Collaborates with parents, educators, counselors, and school leaders to address and support students' academic and behavioral requirements, coordinating instructional strategies.
- Participates in Professional Development and undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrates proof of highly qualified status for the teaching assistant role.
- Serves as a substitute teacher for other educators and staff as required.
- Engages positively within a dynamic international school community and culture.
- Treats all students and staff with respect, fairness, and kindness.
- Ensures that the target language is utilized by students in the classroom at all times.
- Experience working with children in grades K-4.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred; a minimum of 48 credit hours of higher education is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed the Elementary PLACE or Praxis examination.
- Regularly required to stand and walk while instructing, escorting classes, and supervising students.
- May need to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Spend significant time outdoors during student arrival, dismissal, and recess periods.
