Position Overview:

The K-8 English Language Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of students at Denver Public Schools. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist educators by delivering curriculum-aligned support in English language acquisition across various subjects.
  • Facilitate communication with students and their families in their native languages, addressing routine inquiries and concerns.
  • Support computer-assisted instruction, student evaluations, and lesson development as needed.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess the ability to communicate effectively in a second language, both verbally and in writing. Candidates for the Spanish language support role are required to complete a proficiency examination, which includes speaking and reading components. Successful candidates will have the examination fee reimbursed upon hiring.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
