Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Cardiovascular Technologist II, your role will involve assisting in cardiac catheterization and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will also be responsible for performing emergency procedures related to catheterization, such as IAB and temporary pacer insertion, under the guidance of a credentialed invasive cardiologist or radiologist. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our high standards of patient care.
Your specific duties may include:
- Demonstrating accountability in identifying potential patient issues, collecting accurate data, and participating in the patient's care in line with departmental standards.
- Prioritizing resources for patient care and diagnostic activities based on accurate patient information and staff capabilities.
- Exhibiting knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, including conditions such as coronary artery disease (CAD) and relevant treatment therapies.
- Demonstrating competency in performing catheterization lab procedures.
- Assisting in data collection related to cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, renal, and peripheral vascular status, documenting findings, and reporting any abnormal results to the physician.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program and/or RCIS Certification and/or ARRT IR.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a licensed field, with at least one year in a cardiac catheterization lab.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong critical thinking skills, a commitment to service excellence, and effective interpersonal communication abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Registered Vascular Specialist, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, State Registered Radiologic Technician, or Cardiovascular Technologist certification must be obtained within two years of employment.
