Medical Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist II to join our team at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. As a Medical Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing accurate and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples, and completing required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory testing and analysis with high accuracy and efficiency
- Assume responsibility of the department as needed in the absence of the supervisor
- Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
- Correlate and interpret patient results, using good judgment and independent thinking
- Review pending logs and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief
- Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results
- A 2 Year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required
- A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas is preferred
HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital is a 215 bed acute care hospital, Joint Commission accredited, providing emergency, diagnostic, medical and surgical services.
