Position Overview

Drake & Company is in search of a meticulous and dedicated Junior Financial Consultant to support our wealth management team. In this client-facing position, you will leverage your financial expertise to assist Advisors in evaluating and recommending optimal solutions for our clients while providing essential transactional support. Your contributions will enhance the overall client experience by:

  • Maintaining consistent communication with Advisors and clients throughout the financial planning journey.
  • Proactively preparing for meetings by identifying relevant financial planning topics and offering insights on potential solutions.
  • Updating and reviewing client information in preparation for client meetings as necessary.
  • Participating in client meetings when required.
  • Analyzing financial statements and Net Worth Documents.
  • Conducting numerical calculations.
  • Drafting initial financial planning recommendations and generating hypothetical scenarios.
  • Evaluating Morningstar comparisons.
  • Monitoring securities by assessing buying/selling triggers, executing options with Advisor approval, and managing dollar cost averaging arrangements.
  • Serving as the primary contact for a designated group of clients, addressing most advisory-related inquiries independently.
  • Resolving client service issues related to bank authorizations, systematic payouts, dividend adjustments, certificate renewals, annuities, and 401(k) rollover processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident, and health insurance licenses is required; CFP designation is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with five years of progressive experience in the industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a financial planning, support advisory, or comparable role is required; 5+ years is preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing client relationships and providing client support is essential.
  • Familiarity with SalesForce or other Client Relationship Management software is required; experience with Naviplan or similar financial planning software is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is necessary.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Capacity to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Adherence to regulations and protocols as mandated by Advisors and FINRA.
  • Capability to follow detailed procedures, recognize exceptional situations, and take initiative.
  • Ability to support compliance within the Advisor's practice.
