Position Overview

The Junior Financial Auditor position is an entry-level opportunity that involves performing fundamental accounting and auditing responsibilities. Junior Auditors will acquire knowledge of basic accounting and taxation principles while becoming familiar with SVA's methodologies, policies, and practices through mentorship, training, and hands-on experience.

Junior Auditors will work closely with more experienced staff who will provide guidance both prior to and during assignments, assisting in decision-making during challenging situations and offering regular feedback. They will receive direction on adhering to budgetary and time constraints for each phase of an assignment, as well as managing their work schedules accordingly. Interactions with clients may occur, typically under the supervision of senior staff.

90% Client Engagement

  • Conduct assigned audits, reviews, and compilations under supervision.
  • Examine financial statement accounts to ensure accurate recording.
  • Assist in preparing straightforward financial statements or management reports to enhance understanding of various entities and accounting regulations.
  • Record transactions in journals, categorize postings, and total entries for a specific period.
  • With guidance, adhere to budget and time constraints for each engagement phase.
  • Complete administrative tasks and other client-related duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, adhering to all SVA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all responsibilities are executed efficiently, typically requiring extended hours during peak seasons and standard hours during off-peak times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

Experience: Internship experience in public accounting is preferred.

Professional Certification: Must meet the requirements to take the CPA Examination (preferred) and the EA Examination (required).
