Senior Application Engineer

Position Overview:
The role involves the design and development of innovative products, encompassing everything from 3D modeling to the creation of detailed drawings and implementation in production, all driven by customer insights and market demands. The Design Engineer will also mentor junior engineers and oversee various project elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the design and development of new products, conducting thorough market analysis alongside 3D modeling and drawing preparation.
- Deliver compelling design presentations to stakeholders.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability, ensuring optimal production processes.
- Utilize engineering expertise to create aesthetically pleasing and functional products.
- Guide factories and suppliers in production methodologies and resolve product-related issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with the development team to achieve project deadlines and budget constraints.
- Review and assess drawings, documents, and CAD models with the production team for development projects.
- Communicate project progress and gather feedback through meetings with Sales, Marketing, Production, Quality, and other departments.
- Ensure thorough production qualification, including testing and verification of manufacturing capabilities.
- Conduct physical testing of components in both field and laboratory settings.
- Implement design modifications and enhancements for new and existing parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools as necessary.
- Assist the manufacturing team with vendor selection, sourcing, and contract negotiations.
- Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Navigate complex technological developments and challenging customer interactions with ease.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in advanced CAD and modeling techniques.
- Ability to transition a product from initial concept through to detailed design and production.
- Familiarity with various engineering tools, including FEA, FMEA, and Lean methodologies.
- Understanding of diverse materials and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product development processes and sourcing is preferred.
- Background in the defense industry is highly desirable.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years in product development and detailed design of parts/systems.
Experience in automotive, power sports, consumer products, or related fields is preferred.
Work Environment:
Office-based role requiring prolonged periods of sitting and visual acuity for data entry and validation on a computer.
Some travel may be necessary.
