IT/Help Desk Technician I

CommQuest Services, Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated, full-time, On-Site IT/Help Desk Technician I to support our operations in the Stark and Carroll County regions. The IT/Help Desk Technician I will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to the IT department, addressing end-user inquiries, managing helpdesk requests, and resolving hardware and software challenges.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage a Windows Server environment, including Active Directory user and computer management, along with Group Policy administration.
  • Set up and replace user workstations and NEC telecommunication devices.
  • Monitor antivirus systems for potential threats and maintain updated policies.
  • Provide end-user assistance and manage helpdesk requests, prioritizing urgent issues effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems for users.
  • Test solutions to confirm issues are resolved, conducting follow-ups as necessary.
  • Escalate complex problems to experienced technicians or vendors when needed.
  • Document resolutions for future reference.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility and occasional remote work options. Helpdesk Technicians will be provided with an on-call IT phone to assist our 24-hour facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT role may substitute for formal education.
  • Familiarity with Windows servers, Active Directory, Group Policies, PCI Compliance, Cyber Security best practices, and PowerShell scripting for IT automation is essential.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10 and the latest software applications, including Office 365 and Bitlocker, is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as directed by a supervisor.
