As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will provide essential patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

You will work closely with our nursing and medical staff who are enthusiastic about mentoring and welcoming new team members.


Your primary responsibilities will include:
Monitoring vital signs and changing wound dressings. Reporting any unusual findings. Assisting patients with personal hygiene and daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Report any abnormal findings or changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the RN. This includes monitoring vital signs, weights, assisting with personal care and daily living activities, patient transfers, pulse oximetry, point-of-care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices, and removing urinary catheters.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in patient rooms.
Exhibit a positive, caring, and sensitive demeanor in the workplace.
Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and follow both oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform basic clinical tasks as assigned.

Competencies in professional, technical, and clinical knowledge must be demonstrated safely and effectively.

Engage in personal growth and development through ongoing formal and informal learning opportunities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certifications:
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) preferred.
Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within the new hire period.

Nursing students must have BLS certification prior to employment.

Work Complexity:
This role requires critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
Must be capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment and taking appropriate actions.

Experience:
Demonstrated proficiency in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at a minimum junior high level as assessed during the employment process.

Nursing students who have completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing program may substitute this experience.

Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires full body motion to lift and move patients, manual dexterity, and good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.

Adhere to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as necessary.
