$20 to $26.75 per hour based on experience and qualifications

This role involves greeting patients and their families, conducting patient registration, and gathering financial and insurance information for all patients accessing services.

You will review account details to enhance collection efforts and ensure accurate system documentation. Expedite reimbursement processes, ensure compliance, and address issues promptly to facilitate point-of-service decisions. Financial counseling may be provided when necessary.

Responsibilities include explaining and obtaining signatures on registration documents and legal forms, such as Consent for Healthcare Services, Financial Agreement, Advance Directive, and Patient Grievance policy.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-registration and registration processes, verify insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations. Calculate patient liabilities based on insurance benefits, collect deposits, and copayments. Ensure accurate and complete documentation in the patient records system to maximize reimbursement. Obtain all required signatures and documentation mandated by the patient's insurance plan. As needed, conduct bedside registration to expedite the patient registration process.

Provide financial counseling to patients and their families. Clarify financial policies and offer information on available resources and alternative payment options. Assist patients and their families in completing financial assistance applications when appropriate.


Act as a liaison between patients, the billing department, and payors to enhance account receivables performance, resolve outstanding issues, and maximize service excellence.


Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and Health Information Management Services to address outstanding issues and patient concerns.

Strive to meet patients' needs in financial services.

Meet or exceed productivity standards. Complete daily tasks and maintain accurate production logs and records. Identify opportunities for process improvements and foster positive team dynamics.

Perform a variety of patient and financial service tasks.

May include responsibilities such as transporting patients, training new staff, managing patient valuables in accordance with policies, posting daily deposits, or fulfilling other assignments within the Patient Financial Services team.

Carry out all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable professional standards.

Deliver an excellent service experience to all customers by consistently demonstrating our core values and behaviors.


Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent experience.


Requires strong customer service skills and knowledge, typically gained through one (1) or more years of relevant work experience.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment with minimal supervision and work independently.

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with diverse audiences.

Must be comfortable with ongoing face-to-face interactions with patients and staff in a fast-paced medical office setting.

Proficiency in common office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases is required.

As is common in this field, variable shifts and hours, as well as on-call duties, may be necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with medical terminology is preferred.

Prior experience in clinic or hospital registration and prior authorizations is advantageous.

A notary license and relevant experience are preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience is a plus.
