Position Overview:

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary:
$21.07 to $30.34 per hour, commensurate with experience and education

Key Responsibilities:


Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by recording vital signs, symptoms, and other essential measurements, while documenting the primary complaint; assess and document pain levels as necessary.

Communicate any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare provider.


Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, including measuring blood pressure, documenting respiratory and heart rates, taking temperatures, performing ear irrigation, and conducting EKGs.

Serve as a chaperone when required. Adhere to universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary. Manage patient flow efficiently through the clinical process.

Coordinate and oversee patient care, including pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling. Responsible for communicating test results to patients. Act as a resource for clinicians to ensure optimal patient care. May administer medications following established protocols or as directed.


Provide administrative support with patient notifications and documentation, which may involve completing medical records, lab orders, authorizations, X-Rays, and hospital records relevant to each patient visit.

Ensure accurate and timely billing information is available for patient encounters.

Maintain a clean and functional environment, including the cleaning and disinfection of equipment, examination rooms, and storage areas. Follow sterilization procedures and adhere to OSHA guidelines for hazardous substances. Perform basic equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.

Order supplies and manage inventory, including medications and immunizations (e.g., monitoring for expired items and recalls).

Establish and maintain effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate a strong service orientation in all interactions.

This position will require completion of all necessary onboarding and orientation activities, including simulation training, as directed.

Perform all duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable professional standards.

Provide all customers of Foundation Health with an outstanding service experience by consistently demonstrating our core values and professional behaviors.


Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Knowledge typically acquired through graduation from an accredited medical assisting program. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as per state regulations.

Medical Assistant Certification or Registration is mandatory.

Current BLS certification.

All personnel involved in direct patient care must demonstrate competent performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) techniques for adults, children, and infants, in accordance with nationally recognized standards.


Requires skills and abilities generally obtained through one year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office environment, or prior customer service experience.

Strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a working knowledge of medical terminology and computer proficiency are essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Recent experience in healthcare is preferred.

Additional relevant education and/or experience is a plus.
