Research Professional II

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Professional II to join our team at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in molecular parasitology, with a focus on the parasite Toxoplasma gondii.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments to investigate the molecular mechanisms employed by T. gondii to manipulate its host.
- Develop and validate DNA vectors and tagging constructs using PCR, Gibson assembly, and standard cloning protocols.
- Conduct confocal microscopy and Mass Spectrometry experiments to analyze protein host complexes targeted by T. gondii secreted effectors.
- Present research findings at scientific meetings and contribute to the writing of manuscripts.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, parasitology, or a related field.
- Experience in fluorescent microscopy, PCR, and Mass Spectrometry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
