Research Professional II

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Professional II to join our team at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. This is a full-time position responsible for managing and conducting independent research projects, as well as assisting in maintaining the life cycles of mosquitoes and filariae.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and conduct independent research projects
- Assist in maintaining the life cycles of mosquitoes and filariae
- Coordinate and prepare shipments of filarial materials to researchers
- Perform laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and sterilizing glassware and equipment, stocking and ordering supplies
- Restrain, handle, and bleed laboratory rodents, dogs, and cats
- Supervise and train undergraduates in laboratory procedures
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Previous laboratory animal, parasitology/entomology experience is highly desirable. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs and Graph Pad Prism is also required.
Working ConditionsThis position requires occasional lifting of boxes and may involve working with hazardous materials. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check and credit check.
