Research Professional II

This is a unique opportunity to join the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine as a Research Professional II. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and conducting independent research projects, as well as assisting in maintaining the life cycles of mosquitoes and filariae.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and conduct independent research projects
- Assist in maintaining the life cycles of mosquitoes and filariae
- Coordinate and prepare shipments of filarial materials to researchers
- Perform laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and sterilizing glassware and equipment, stocking and ordering supplies
- Restrain, handle, and bleed laboratory rodents, dogs, and cats
- Supervise and train undergraduates in laboratory procedures
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in parasitology, entomology, or a related field, with experience in laboratory animal handling and research techniques. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Graph Pad Prism is also required.
