Join our team as a Visiting Research Professional I and contribute to cutting-edge research in horticulture.
About the PositionThis is a temporary technical/paraprofessional position that will support field research activities, including manual labor, equipment operations, and data collection. The successful candidate will work closely with Field Research Services and Branch Station personnel to coordinate research activities and translate extension publications to Spanish.
Responsibilities- Conduct field research to determine critical bud temperatures for peaches
- Collaborate with Project Leader to modify field and laboratory experimental procedures
- Inform Project Leader of changes to experimental procedures
- Translate extension publications to Spanish
A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in horticulture, plant pathology, or a related area. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also required.
Working ConditionsThe successful candidate will be willing to bend and lift at least 50 pounds, work in a laboratory for multiple hours a day, and travel to research plots during the workday.
