Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mathematics Coordinator to join our team at Baltimore City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating K-12 mathematics efforts, including assessments, curriculum, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation of the City Schools mathematics curriculum across grades K-12.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing professional development around best practices in mathematics.
  • Coordinate and develop curriculum and assessments for elementary mathematics.
  • Use data collected to strategically support the needs of teachers and schools in the district.
  • Develop and provide appropriate guidance for schools and school leaders on best practices in mathematics.
  • Provide district-level leadership in the area of K-12 mathematics.
  • Provide coaching and supervision to mathematics specialists.
  • Work collaboratively with a highly motivated team from multiple offices to advance teaching and learning in the district.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Maryland State Department of Education Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrator I endorsement.
  • Three years of teaching experience in mathematics and/or STEM, preferably in elementary and secondary settings.
  • Three years of experience developing and delivering professional development to teachers.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of current research in K-12 mathematics best practices.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards for mathematics.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a productive team of individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of multiple computer applications, including Microsoft Office, PD tracking and reporting software, databases, and online professional learning software.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, rules, and policies affecting City Schools' educators.
