Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mathematics Curriculum Specialist to join our team at Baltimore County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise and support in mathematics curriculum development and implementation for secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a long-range professional learning plan to promote evidence-based instructional strategies across all secondary schools.
  • Provide leadership in the design and development of curricula for mathematics that align with Maryland College and Career Ready Standards and College Board Standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor embedded formative assessments, unit assessments, and final exams for secondary mathematics that are integrated and aligned to the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards.
  • Identify and recommend prevention, intervention, and enrichment opportunities for all secondary students for mathematics.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other curricular offices to facilitate equitable and cohesive mathematics programming.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with MSDE, community agencies, institutions of higher learning, and other leaders in mathematics that benefit schools and support system priorities.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in a field related to the assignment, with at least fifteen additional hours of approved graduate and/or in-service credit.
  • Five years of progressively responsible leadership/management experience in a public educational setting.
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate with an Administrator I endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstration of content knowledge and understanding of instructional practices in mathematics.
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstration of strong leadership, management, and human relations skills.
  • Possession of technology competency (e.g., database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, and related applications).
Working Conditions

The work of this class is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment. Work includes the operation of office equipment, including personal computers, and occasional limited physical activities.
