Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our Wholesale Property team. This role is pivotal in developing a profitable portfolio within the assigned underwriting territory. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Wholesale Property and will play a crucial role in enhancing brand visibility for Everest.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a profitable book of business in the designated territory.
- Implement strategic growth plans while fostering brand recognition.
- Establish goals and objectives for the team and region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with appointed brokers.
- Control pricing and risk selection standards to align with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments including Actuarial, Claims, and Operations.
- Mentor and coach junior underwriters to enhance their technical and professional skills.
- Stay informed about competitor strategies and the overall insurance landscape.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or a related field; insurance designations are advantageous.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in commercial property underwriting.
- Strong self-motivation and independent working skills while adhering to underwriting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to evaluate risk exposures and natural hazards.
- Willingness to travel as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities across all business functions.
- Proven experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing risk and portfolio data.
- Proficient in sales and negotiation techniques.
