General Summary: The Production Supervisor will be tasked with directing and managing the daily operational functions of the production team. This pivotal role within the manufacturing unit will ensure that production targets and objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively, while upholding a safe, organized, and clean working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily production tasks of designated personnel.
  • Ensure timely and efficient achievement of production targets.
  • Assess production performance, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Guarantee adherence to established safety and quality protocols during production processes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workplace.
  • Provide training and mentorship to production staff on equipment and processes.
  • Supervise production schedules and workflows.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock rotation.
  • Address and resolve production challenges promptly.
  • Commit to safety in the operation of equipment.
Daily Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Production Personnel: (50% of the time)

  • Manage and audit daily personnel activities.
  • Oversee breaks and lunches, reporting any deviations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE and safety standards.
  • Facilitate shift startup and end-of-day processes.
  • Conduct routine quality checks and validations punctually and accurately.
  • Report any policy violations to management promptly.

2. Execution of Operational Tasks: (50% of the time)

  • Lead daily shift startup and transition meetings.
  • Perform machine startups, shutdowns, and restarts.
  • Manage the daily production schedule and workflow.
  • Oversee work order life cycles and shop floor activities.
  • Audit cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.
  • Maintain awareness of quality defect rates and actively participate in improvement initiatives.
  • Track overall efficiency and effectiveness daily.
  • Compile production data and submit reports to management at the end of each shift.
  • Engage in operator duties when not performing supervisory tasks.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three years of frontline leadership experience in an injection/blow molding manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficient in computer software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Capability to learn ERP systems.
  • Fluent in English, with effective written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective public speaking skills.
  • Mathematical proficiency for basic calculations and data interpretation.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.
  • Demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in a production environment with potential exposure to noise.
