Job Summary

Petmate is seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Production Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize customer service through effective teamwork and communication
  • Perform team management duties, including coaching, training, disciplinary action, safety practices, and scheduling
  • Drive production improvement to meet department OEE goals
  • Produce schedule products to specifications
  • Oversee and maintain high levels of housekeeping
  • Meet daily with off-going and oncoming supervisors to ensure priorities are met
  • Plan and coordinate the distribution of labor, adjusting work assignments and schedules while responding to fluctuating production needs
  • Supervise, evaluate, promote, and enforce compliance with company safety policies/rules/procedures
  • Ensure employees have the training tools, equipment, and information to meet production expectations
  • Manage daily labor efficiencies, downtime, scrap, and part quality
  • Manage payroll, break schedules, and vacations for the shift
  • Implement visual workplace principles through Lean Six Sigma methodologies

Requirements:

  • A leader who can motivate, train, drive accountability, and adapt to change
  • Experience in station layout designs and single-piece flow
  • Understanding of metrics such as OEE, Scrap, Safety, and Quality
  • Plastic injection molding experience a plus

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or general education degree and minimum 5 years of supervisor experience, capable of supervising 140+ people in multiple departments.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software, spreadsheet, and word processing Microsoft Office software, Mattec, and Oracle.
