Organization Overview:

Beacon Hill is a non-profit entity dedicated to delivering essential supplemental tutoring in mathematics and reading to students within local public and charter schools. Our outreach spans communities including Fair Park, Oak Cliff, Wilmer Hutchins, Pleasant Grove, and nearby areas. We offer a variety of programs such as in-school, after-school, and summer sessions. Our mission is to ensure students Catch Up, Keep Up, and Stay Ahead by formulating data-driven intervention strategies and providing support to educators and families throughout the academic year. Our ultimate goal is to assist each student in reaching grade-level proficiency in math and reading, fostering self-assured learners, and creating equitable opportunities for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a welcoming and stimulating environment in the Beacon Hill Learning Lab.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging small group tutoring with a ratio of 3-4 students per instructor.
  • Oversee Learning Lab personnel, including instructors and volunteers.
  • Evaluate student progress and track group performance metrics.
  • Implement the Gideon curriculum along with Reading and Math Enrichment programs with precision.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential records and database entries.
  • Supervise classroom management, ensuring a maximum of 12 students per rotation.
  • Comply with both internal and external regulations.
  • Exhibit professional conduct and attire.
  • Participate in program training and facilitate staff meetings.
  • Assist in the training of volunteers and staff members.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or teaching certification.
  • Experience working with school-aged children may be considered in lieu of a degree or certification.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and access to high-speed internet.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Background in management or leadership.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Program Manager.

Direct Reports: Instructional Teachers and Volunteers.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).

Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position, with compensation commensurate with experience. An unpaid flexible volunteer orientation of 20 hours is required upon selection.

Travel Requirements: In-state travel for staff development, professional training, team-building activities, and other job-related responsibilities.
